(1,900 posts)my wife and I actually did this. We got this pet shop reject bichon who utterly loved my wife. When she got pregnant, we started talking about what we were going to do for poor Bubba so we decided to get him a dog.
This time, we found a reputable breeder who had one puppy left, and we drove all the way across town (we lived in the St. Louis area at the time). When we walked in, Mugsy flipped over on his back and was wagging his entire body.
Of course, we went home with him. I will never forget the look on Bubbas face when we showed him Mugsy for the first time. He knew that we had bought him a dog and he was even more excited about Mugsy than he had been excited about the fence that we put in the backyard. They were inseparable for 14 years. Until we had to put Bubba down. The next year, Muggsy had a series of strokes and we had to put him down.
To this day, I can look back on that is the purest thing that either one of us ever did.
This video brings back memories of that. Those two goldens will love each other and be with each other until the day they die. God Ilove dogs.
Thank you as always for posting.

(9,673 posts)He was so attached to me he would cry if I left him alone- I took him everywhere with me till it got too hot to leave him in a car while running errands.
So, I stopped at animal control- got him (hes half husky) a white half husky girl I named Jazz. They are inseparable and Bubba has no problem staying home with Jazz.
