I hate the fact that I was forced into taking German and I've never gotten to use it except to read road signs in WWII movies. Since school some Yiddish has infiltrated the memory banks.

The four years of Latin served me better. Semper ubi sub ubi.

5. I went through 12 grades of public schools and 4 years of college without ever having to take a foreign language.

Oh well, I did learn a few words of German when I was on tour there many years ago, but most can't be used in a polite conversation.

... my German is a little bit better that, I can form sentences and my vocabulary is still OK, and the German way of forming new words out gathering small words helps. I can read it a bit, follow it spoken a littler bit if they speak like I am developmentally stunted and partially deaf.
