Jim Garrison. (Played by Kevin Costner in "JFK".)
Archae
(47,188 posts)Ok. they did get 2 things correct.
Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas.
Garrison did put Clay Shaw on trial.
The rest of that movie is absolute bullshit.
Even that wonderful speech Garrison gave on the final day of the trial, as being played by Costner, was not given.
Garrison wasn't even there at the trial the last day.
Garrison was a grandstander who let organized crime figures off the hook.
He also tried to paint Clay Shaw as part of a "homosexual thrill killer group."
Yes. Even really well-made movies can be absolute horseshit.
Going back to "Birth Of A Nation."

(1,378 posts)I merely quoted a film. I skated right over discussion of the accuracy of said film.
(But at least you got that off your chest. Now breathe. )
Archae
(47,188 posts)Likewise DW Griffith.
Griffith was a genius, in the silent film era.
But his biggest film was "Birth Of A Nation," a racist retelling of Recontruction.
I enjoyed a lot of movies Clint Eastwood was in, but his asinine stunt with that chair (that was supposed to represent Obama,) and his recent films, including "Outlaw Josey Wales" and "Richard Jewell" show just what a piece of shit he really is.
Also, there's the actor Jeffrey Jones.
He was great in the movies "Beetlejuice" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
But he wrecked his reputation completely by traveling to Asia to set up sex with children.

(1,378 posts)and that's O.K. Good to get that shit off your chest, friend.
