doc wants to scrape my spine but can't tell me that I'll be better than I currently am,.
recovery time is also crazy with 6-8 wks before p.t. can be started
anybody have experience with this type of surgery?

(352 posts)times for a bulging disc pushing against the nerves. It was terrible pain but relived quite well after surgery.
Takes about 8 weeks as you were told, to heal and gentle PT really helps.
Last surgery was the worst as they had to do a lateral incision which required cutting through more muscle tissue.
These were all separate issues as my back was really messed up after years of heavy lifting due to my work.
One surgery may do the trick for you, hopefully.

(16,949 posts)went thru the steroid injectioins, then radio frequency ablation, and now I'm at this point.
I'm getting close to 75 y/o and don't heal as quickly as I used to.
