Good morning my DU family,

A friend recently reminded me in a casual conversation of the old adage,

The fastest way to come out of a depression is by helping someone else.

I agree with that wholeheartedly, while wanting to add the second place answer too.
The flip side of that coin is to ask for help of course, and please please please do ask for help, especially if you're isolated, timid, shy, or in an abusive situation.

Call a trusted friend or relative, ask HR about an employee assistance program, a clergy person, your doctor, and yes, 911.

988 is a nationwide 24/7 mental health crisis number you can call, and 211 is a number that you can call to connect you with resources to help feed and house you.

Please give us a day filled with opportunities to help others, especially if we ourselves are down, and to ask for help when we need it ourselves.

It's ok to be where we are, and we don't have to be there alone.

Have a great day helping ourselves and others DU.
Love, John
