My latest fused glass piece

I started it in December but wasn't happy with it so it has been sitting ever since. Finally decided to just finish. Not my best piece but I love the color of the channel.

The wife and I have been doing stained glass for 40 years now, (copper mostly} but we've never had the opportunity to do fusion. Looks like fun.

26. Plus you can use cathedral glass

which is way cheaper than fusing compatible glass. Unfortunately I fell in love with fusing (the classes where I used to live were way cheaper than stained glass classes - and, like a drug dealer, they got you hooked by giving you free glass!)

3. Beautiful! My wife and her stained glass artist friends experimented with it in the 80s

But decided it was like throwing money in the kiln.

so surely that @$400 offsets the $3000+ costs so far, right?

23. Exactly! She sells pieces for $1,000, but after costs and the time it takes. We estimate she's making $5 hr

4. The channel is indeed wonderful, but that's at least partly because of how you framed it!

The frame gives it definition and great beauty.

I am hoping to eventually be able to put some stuff on display in the right place but right now I'm still just doing it as a side hobby (although an expensive one)

There's such wonderful color and texture in it. And the contrast of the reds and plums and a couple of blues, and the dotted pieces too. REALLY nice, drmeow!
