High Camp - might work - might not. Looks fun but, may not hold up in feature length

I really wish somebody would tell Hollywood film makers that it's OK to remake a cult classic un-ironically. The original Dark Shadows was camp enough without turning every other line into a guffaw.
Sometimes playing it straight is best. I had the same objection with Land of the Lost. Sure, it was Saturday morning kiddie fare, but it was a coherent and mysterious universe, with a good number of real science fiction authors contributing scripts. A large budget remake could have produced a piece of serious science fiction-adventure, but instead with got T&A humor and a film that had no respect for the source material.
