(176,225 posts)My beardie was 15 years old (which is longer than the breed average). It took me eight years to get another puppy. My oldest two children lost both of their beardies (their beardies were also over 14 years old) and they both got new beardies within six months of the loss of their family members. Last weekend was the one year anniversary of him saying goodbye to his family member. It was rough but his new puppy helped.
Time will help

Who was present in the cave to welcome the new-born Messiah? Not any staff from a local maternity ward. But ANIMALS!
