I am looking for someone who knows about old, famous photos. My last brother just died and the man literally had nothing BUT he saved something for me that he told me would have some good money to come from selling it. I think he is likely wrong but I told him I would look into it so I could gift my children. I am just beginning and the first thing I noticed is these pictures seem to be everywhere. This one is autograph certified, that seems to also be a thing and not one that really helps.. My wanderings are not paying off. If someone knows how to cut through all the BS or maybe this IS BS. I would sure be interested. It is a sports related photo. I have not one clue even where to start. If what it is is helpful I am perfectly happy to put the info out to you.
Thanks for helping or even not helping. I always thought this might be a very kindly intentioned gift from my brother who really had little to nothing for the poorest part of his life.

(17,239 posts)Sports people are kind of nutty for memorabilia. I don't think it would hurt to mention details. That might increase its value.
I snapped a fairly recent online shot of "The Cleveland Indians" stadium ( a webmaster oversight) and of course, pics from an Oakland Athletics game. No big deal, but my daughter was among a group of kids being honored, and I got a pic of the message board with their names. Value to our family.
No more Oakland Athletics.
Good luck.
I will do that. I know nothing but I did see that this particular picture goes somewhere around $1000.00. This one has a few little defects but not many.
Interesting having this in the house looking at it.
Thank you very much.
Congrats to your daughter!

(34,597 posts)When things settle I will get to work on this in a few. I am pretty sure it is not really going to amount to much but it meant a great deal to my brother. We were not close, he was a drunk living in his car. Turns out he really did not have to live in his car but from what I know he kinda liked it that way. He saved this for me or my son's thinking it was going to be worth a lot of money. Whether it is or not I owe it to him to at least check it out. It will always mean something to me regardless.
