Sony A7-R4 mirrorless camera with a Zeiss-Batis 18mm/f2.8 wide-angle lens. Shot from my fire lookout tower on 8000 foot peak. The sun is setting behind me, and there is a light rain falling between me and the next peak over. The shadow of my mountain can be seen on the side of the neighboring peak.

(11,985 posts)We have some astounding members here at DU, and you are one of them Bo Zarts. This makes me wonder where California Peggy is. She needs to see this. That is absolutely out-of-this-worldly!

(11,985 posts)I've had a bit of the Trump-itis blood pressure of late and don't get on here as much as I usually do. I didn't even look at the replies above. I just punched reply right off the bat and didn't notice that Peggy posted a reply above me.

Great shot. Weird how this weather works. Surrounds or valley get the rain north south most of it comes in from the West. Oh well thats the way of it. Love your pics.

I wanted to go to the ground and get the fire tower under the rainbow arc, but I was working a lightning fire with two engine crews on it .. so all I could do was a couple of quick shots from the lookout tower catwalk.
