questions for serious wildlife photographers or wildlife watchers.....

what would be a fair price, per night, to stay in a solid concrete and glass cabin in a slice of tropical southern pacific coast rain forest in Costa Rica, with access to bird blinds and kilometers of trails through the rain forest? if you've followed my posting, you'd have opportunities to photograph the same types of wildlife, and more, up close, including a colorful diversity of frogs at night.

lodging would be comfortable and high end, with high speed internet access and all three meals included.

$250 for double occupancy?

1. That price is more than fair

$250.00 per night is typical of regular airb&b's. For one that is high-end in the middle of a tropical paradise it is definitely a good price especially with meals included.

EDIT: I would pay extra to get lessons from you on how to photograph these animals.

7. I would cut DUers a deep discount so at least the meals and housekeeping and other costs are covered....

....since the locals in the little pueblo below me will be working on all of that. I have a great workforce here.

the reason I want to make the meals part of it is that transportation in and out requires a 4X4 (which most tourists won't have) and I don't want to have to haul people out every day to restaurants. I guess people could bring their own food and cook it here, to cut the price down. or they could pay my team to drive them into town for meals but that would kinda defeat the purpose of relaxing for days in the rain forest.

I don't have the cabin built yet. I'm still going through costs for different options. I hope to get it done in the next few months, though. if it ends up being popular, I'll build a couple more.

5. I agree with the others that the price is more than fair.

The one thing you should consider, since some wildlife there can be dangerous, is a legal agreement making anyone renting that cabin fully aware of all the risks...and it should also include the renter agreeing to not do anything to lure any dangerous animals closer to that cabin. I'd recommend checking to see what sort of agreements other businesses bringing tourists into close contact with wildlife have.

i wd look at that, but look at the bookings. there might b listings around what u r asking, but look to see if they r actually booked.
