Quick question about high schoolers

I’m pretty old, and I may be out of touch. When I watch a show involving high school students, those students invariably look to be about 24 years old. Are there no teenage actors out there to play teenagers?

It’s a little like Denis Leary and his ancient face with newly dark brunette hair. Hmm, maybe they think we are all brainless trumpers who will believe anything?

With regulations when an actor is under 18. Their hours are limited. On set. Over 18 those pesky regulations disappear.

I get that there are work restrictions with minors, so hire an 18 yo to play the 16 yo, not someone who's 26. Sheesh.
