What is your most favorite TV show ever as the GREATEST of all TIME for you?

Mine is the Walking Dead....all 11 seasons..... I binge it...I rewatch it and have caught soooo many great details...it's about hope , how people cope under PTSD level stress....

I can use it as inspiration as to how to cope under todays tRump apocalypse...

2. In the past I would have said The Wire or maybe Breaking Bad

I have rewatched The Wire a few times since it first aired on HBO. I always caught something new that I missed which is easy to do with the slow developing plot.

Breaking Bad first time watching was on the edge of my seat the whole time but it doesn't have much rewatch value.

The show I probably watched the most is probably Better Call Saul. I actually like it better than Breaking Bad but a lot of those shows I also notice flaws if I rewatch a show too many times.

As far as these days I'm not sure anymore. I liked Legends that I recently saw Netflix. That show is kinda like The Wire as in it is a show about a high end drug trafficking investigation but in Britain.

Regarding Breaking Bad..... the little details emerge with binging....like the color schemes for characters...so many fine details...

One of the things about "The Wire", beyond the writing, the story, and the acting overall, is the number of non-actors who appeared in the series who gave such great performances. The cast members who played Prop Joe, Snoop, and The Deacon, and others like Method Man, Steve Earle, and the real Jay Landsman were as indelible as any of the pros in the cast.

I liked Chris Noth and I liked Jeff Goldblum but I LOVED Vincent D'Onofrio. I wish they'd bring that one back.

And Monk was great too. What a hoot! All those episodes and it never got tired or old. That's a real accomplishment for any kind of series. And Tony Shalhoub was so good. I was sorry when it ended.

so I had to go back and catch Sharona in reruns. I liked them both and I'm glad the writers made them so different from each other. I also like that they brought Sharona back at the end. And who would've thought she would end up with Disher after all the animosity between them all those years? I sure didn't see that coming!

Tony Shalhoub was perfect as Monk. The whole cast was excellent. Great show.

22. I am noticing that this thread reflects the lousy TV options today.

I'm glad we can binge older shows via Apps.... but there just is not any substantial news shows essentially..... I'm sure there are great stories to tell....corporate TV is all about control the message now and cut cost...drive thru at McDonalds stuff...and they want us to pay for it....

These upcoming new buyouts like HBO/ Time Warner/ Discovery to Paramount....frightening future I believe...

My library, The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, is awesome in that regard. Movies, TV series and mini-series are available to borrow for 3 weeks (usually) and there usually isn't much of a waiting list either.

37. Homicide: Life on the Street, what a great choice

I loved Pembleton; who didn't? Andre Braugher was such a phenomenal actor. But my favorites were Munch and Meldrick. The only character I didn't really like was the medical examiner played by Michelle Forbes. The show had such good stories and such a talented cast. I thought the last couple years, when a lot of the main cast left, were not as good as the earlier ones. But all in all, a great series.

Barney Fife! What a hoot! He thought he was so cool and he really wasn't. I don’t think anybody on earth could have played him as well as Don Knotts did.

One thing unrealistic about the show is those that are on unofficial cover assignments rarely do risky missions because they can be arrested. They usually use those with official cover or diplomatic immunity for the risky ones.
