LITTLE ROCK, Ark. A lawsuit filed in Pulaski County Circuit Court on Wednesday alleges a chicken franchise knowingly put an underage employee in a position to be sexually assaulted.
The suit alleges the minor girl was groomed and then assaulted by 38-year-old Marcus Roshun Yancy while employed at a Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings in Sherwood. Yancy is currently being held in the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center, where he is facing sexual assault, sexual indecency and trafficking charges after his May 30 arrest by the Sherwood police officers in connection with what happened to the 17-year-old employee.
The suit names Yancy, Zaxbys Franchising and Zaxbys operating company, as well as the Sherwood franchise operator, DND Groups, Inc., as defendants.
Yancy was the minors manager, the suit alleges, despite his employer knowing he had a history of felonies dating back to 2005, including aggravated robbery, theft and forgery. In April, the suit continues, Yancy coerced the 17-year-old girl to have sex with him multiple times, including at the Sherwood Zaxbys.
