$108,000 Raised in Longmont Election Campaigns According to Latest Campaign Finance Reports

The City of Longmont released the latest campaign activity reports from Longmont political candidates this week, which include transactions through October 3. There have been $108,052.47 in total contributions made for all Longmont candidates, based on information released in the latest report.

The Longmont Fair Campaign Practices Act (LFCPA) requires all Longmont candidates running for political office to report their campaign activity, including fundraising and expenditures. The act limits individual contributions to no more than $310, and candidates must report the name and address for every contribution that is $50 or more.

The LFCPA outlines contribution limits and establishes requirements for reporting campaign activity by local municipal candidates, issue and political committees, and individuals or groups making independent expenditures during elections in order to provide transparency in elections. Longmont does not use the reporting tool TRACER administered by the Colorado Secretary of State.

The report shows that 106 contributions of $310 have been made thus far, which is the highest possible individual contribution amount.
