We are having a blizzard here in Ogle County.

This is the first snow of the season. All the area schools sent the kids home.

What is it like in your part of the state?

winds kicking up past 42 mph - near whiteout conditions for the past few hours. Western Illinois University, area schools closed this morning.

maybe another hour or two, then the snow will stop. However, the winds are so strong, it will be hard to tell.

A good day to stay in and off the highways.

blowing like crazy. Snow but not able to stick too much as it's blowing too hard.
