Election board passes new proposal, more than a dozen new voting locations

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – The Allen County Election Board reached a consensus on a new proposal – a follow up from a previous one introduced last month for 39 polling locations around the county.

“We started out with 39 locations for proposal and after our multi-partisan group came up together, we moved it to 53. We feel like this will give us a good starting point for working on election day voting” Amy Scrogham, Allen County Election Board director said.

Scrogham also says there was a focus placed on areas like the southeast side of the county, which was identified as a concern at the last meeting.

The 14 new locations were selected after the board looked at traffic flow and work patterns to ensure centers were visible and accessible.
