Two Topeka City Council District 1 candidates advance to general election
The race for Topeka City Council District 1 has narrowed the field to two candidates for the general election.
Incumbent Karen Hiller and first-time candidate William Naeger finished in the top two posts in the Aug. 5 primary election.
Out of 18 precincts in District 1, 803 people voted in this primary race. Listed below are the unofficial results from the Shawnee County Elections office.
Incumbent Karen Hiller had 358 votes, which was 44.58% of voters.
William Naeger had 195 votes, which was 24.28% of voters.
Jolie Lippitt had 116 votes, which was 14.45% of voters.
Brendan Jensen had 66 votes, which was 8.22% of voters.
Tyler Jaggers had 50 votes, which was 6.23% of voters.
Eli Bohannan had 18 votes, which was 2.24% of voters.
The general election is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 4. The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 14.
