Smith-Willis (D) seeking re-election to city commission

When she was elected to the Frankfort Board of Commissioners last year, Katima Smith-Willis promised to lead by learning and listening.

With 10 months of experience under her belt, the fun is ”just getting started,” she said in her re-election announcement.

“Over the past year, I’ve rolled up my sleeves and gotten to work,” Smith-Willis stated. “I joined the affordable housing and public works committees, graduated from both the Police and Fire Citizen academies, and spent real time learning the ins and outs of how city government actually works, not just from the outside looking in, but from within the process itself.

“I’ve also connected with municipalities across Kentucky to bring back new ideas, smart solutions, and a stronger vision for Frankfort’s future.”
