Dearborn man's body recovered from Lake Erie, officials say
MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – The body of a Dearborn man has been recovered from Lake Erie, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Hussein Afi Hassoun, 23, went missing in the water on Sunday afternoon after he jumped into the lake from a boat near Sterling State Park.
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, while search efforts were underway in the area where Hassoun was last seen, a boater reported that they had found a body in the water at about 8:45 a.m.
Members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division responded to that area and recovered Hassoun’s body. ...................(more)
