Big Rapids candidate forum set for Sept. 24 at City Hall
BIG RAPIDS — The American Association of University Women–Big Rapids Chapter will host a public forum to meet the candidates running for mayor and city commission from 6 to 8 p.m., Sept. 24, at the commission chambers of Big Rapids City Hall, 226 N. Michigan Ave., Big Rapids.
During the forum, candidates will answer prepared questions moderated by Susan H. Grant, retired district court judge, and will respond to questions from the audience.
“We did this for the first time in 2023 for the municipal elections,” organizer Jennifer Cochran said. “Municipal elections are important, and we like the idea of giving the public an opportunity to see and hear the people who are running for office.”
Current Mayor Fred Guenther is running for reelection to the position.
