McGreevey Calls on AG to 'Ensure Independent Oversight' of Election, Other Campaigns Dismissive

Former Gov. Jim McGreevey has called upon New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin to “ensure independent oversight of all Jersey City election locations throughout the election period.”

The request comes as he alleges the mayoral campaigns of the other two front-runners allegedly engaged in unethical conduct and voter interference.

“Oversight by your office is critical to ensuring that the election is conducted in full compliance with the law and that voter confidence is maintained,” McGreevey wrote in a letter to Platkin on Monday, a few days into early voting.

The campaigns of the other two candidates, Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea and Councilman James Solomon, are dismissing the concerns, saying they are based on inaccurate depictions.
