Democrats flip the Onondaga County Legislature for first time in nearly 50 years
For the first time in nearly 50 years, Democrats are poised to take control of the Onondaga County Legislature.
Democrats are on the verge of flipping the legislature from Republican control Tuesday in a remarkable upset of decades of established county politics.
Democrats won nine of the 17 seats on the legislature and had solid leads in one more. Nine seats are enough for a majority.
Three of the seats Democrats have already won were held by Republican incumbents.
