SPOTLIGHT RACE: Rose Lounsbury for OH-HD36
Im Rose Lounsbury and Im runningagainfor State Rep in Ohios House District 36, which includes Kettering, Oakwood, Riverside, East Dayton, and downtown.
Im running because the issues that motivated me to run in 2024 are still around. In fact, theyre rapidly getting worse, and I remain committed to creating a state that our young people are going to want to stay in.
Im a former public school teacher, the daughter of two retired teachers, and a mom of teenage triplets in public school. Protecting our public schools is still at the top of my list.
During the pandemic, I joined the League of Women Voters, which is where my political journey began. I believe that voting rights are the bedrock of our democracy and Im committed to creating an Ohio where elections are fair.
My great-grandfather immigrated to Southeast Ohio in the early 1900s to work in the coal mines because he believed Ohio was a place where hardworking people like him could afford a nice life. I still believe that. People who work hard should be able to afford housing, food, andGod forbidif someone gets cancer, not go bankrupt.
Thats my vision for Ohio: a place with strong schools and fair elections, where hardworking people can afford to live.
This is NOT a crazy vision. The crazy thing is
Republicans like my opponent are working every day in Columbus to make sure it doesnt happen.
Theyre defunding our schools with vouchers.
Theyre diluting our votes with voter suppression and rigged maps.
Theyre making life unaffordable by refusing to fix the property tax problem they created.
Theyre supporting a status quo that doesnt work for most of us. But I know thattogetherwe can create an Ohio that works for working people.
