“I just want to help protect kids here in Ohio from this harmful content online,” Demetriou said.

Verification would be done by submitting a photo of your state ID or by entering your personal information into a third-party system that will then run your details through other online databases — it could also use facial recognition technology, capturing photos of users. Companies would be penalized if they don’t comply."

How would they do this? If I live at the edge of the state, will my phone know which side of the border I'm on?

Or if I have, say, a satellite internet setup, could I just avoid it completely?

I think that VPN- virtual private networks- will become more common.

I figure the exact kids who they claim to want to deny access are the ones usually best equipped to dodge the issue that way.

But I'm thinking it sounds like a likely way to push business to starlink.
