ICE Friendly Sheriff Fred Harran Defeated in "Purple" Bucks County
Bucks County is a suburb of Philadelphia, PA that is often cited as a bellwether for the state and country. It is a mix of suburbs, towns, and rural areas that runs from working-class to very wealthy.
With nearly 404,000 votes cast in 2024, Trump won the county by just 291 votes. He lost Bucks County in 2020 by 17,345 votes, and 2,699 votes in 2016.
In April, Sheriff Fred Harran applied for a program that enables local law enforcement to work closely with ICE. He seemed to be modeling himself after Trump in temperament and policy.
Yesterday, he was defeated by Democrat Danny Ceisler 55.28% to 44.66%. I heard Danny speak on No King’s Day in Doylestown. He will be a major upgrade for Bucks County.
