Gladewater City Council candidates battle for progress and unity in election race

GLADEWATER, Texas — Two seats on the Gladewater City Council are on the ballot this election season and all four candidates say they’re focused on growth, infrastructure, and community connection.

"I was geared to do this basically off the principles of, let's get some younger blood in there," Gladewater City Council Place 4 candidate William Blackmon said.

William Blackmon has attended council meetings for over a year. He wants to bring transparency, attract younger residents, and improve housing and roads.

"Gladewater City Council is already working towards a Parks and Rec division. I would love to see that take off, hit the ground running with that, it's great opportunity for all generations," Blackmon said.
