Election Day: San Antonio Chooses New Mayor Between Pablos (R), Ortiz-Jones (D)
San Antonio will have anew Mayor on Saturday night.
Republican Rolando Pablos and Democrat Gina Ortiz emerged from a crowded field last month to make the runoff and replace Ron Nirenberg. Nirenberg is term limited out after being elected to four terms as Mayor. Nirenberg has not formally endorsed either candidate
Pablos is a former Texas Secretary of State who has the backing of Governor Greg Abbott. Ortiz-Jones is a former Congressional candidate. This is a race that is attracting the attention statewide. And it has also attracted a lot of money from non-Texas sources.
Polls are open from 7am to 7pm.
