Highway 529 NB to close for paving Friday night through Monday morning
EVERETT — Highway 529 will close to northbound traffic Friday at Steamboat Slough so Washington State Department of Transportation contractor crews can pave a section of the highway.
The closure will begin 10 p.m. Friday and continue until 4 a.m. Monday. People will be able to use northbound Highway 529 to reach Smith Island in north Everett. Vehicles leaving the island will need to use southbound Highway 529.
Rain could postpone the work, a WSDOT press release said.
To assist pedestrians, bicyclists and people who use mobility devices along the Highway 529 northbound lanes, the contractor will operate a shuttle to take them around the construction zone.
