I was on camera in a residential neighborhood in New Orleans about 15 years ago. I got a letter in the mail with a picture of my license plate and a description of me going 40 in a 30 with a ticket attached. I guess I let the good times roll too fast. The camera thing works. I didn’t get a courtesy letter.

for the speed between the recording stations.

However, it's not the average speed between two spots; it's the aggressive driving all along the highway - fast lane changes, tail-gating, etc.

They have a financial incentive to over estimate the speeds measured.
