WinCo advances plans for first Seattle store, records show

WinCo Foods is moving forward with plans for a store in North Seattle, according to the city's Thursday land-use bulletin.

The company's application states part of the former Sam's Club building at 13550 Aurora Ave. N. will be replaced with new exterior walls, sidewalks, paving and landscaping. The parking lot will be expanded slightly to 558 stalls, and the work will include 1,000 cubic yards of grading. Records also show three "large" signs are planned for Aurora Avenue North and 135th and 137th streets North.

The Boise, Idaho-headquartered discount grocer has not yet responded to a Business Journal inquiry about when the store might open.

Information submitted to the city Department of Construction & Inspections last month lists Petersen Staggs of Boise as the architect, SCJ Alliance of Lacey as the landscape architect and geotechnical consultant Terracon Inc. of Mountlake Terrace. As previously reported, JSA Civil of Tumwater is the project engineer.
