Two reportedly barricaded in Everett motel; SWAT responds to shooting

EVERETT — Two people reportedly barricaded inside an Everett motel prompted a large police response Friday afternoon, including SWAT officers, according to Everett Police Department.

As of 1:45 p.m. Friday, at least 15 police units were visible at the Farwest Motel in the 6000 block of Evergreen Way in Everett. Yellow police tape covered all access to the motel parking lot.

Region 1 SWAT responded to reports of a shooting involving the barricaded individuals. The situation remained active as of 2:25 p.m., and police asked the public to avoid the area.
