Walla Walla County holds special election tomorrow

Voters will decide on forming a regional fire authority named Walla Walla North County Fire, consisting of districts 1, 3, and 7. If approved, a property tax of $1.20 per $1,000 of assessed value would begin May 1 and be collected in 2026.

Voters in Waitsburg will also decide on the school district’s safety, security, and technology capital levy, which would collect 80 cents per $1,000 of assessed value in 2026, 2027, and 2028.

Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked on or before Election Day, and those dropped off must be in a ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
