Two Snohomish County bridge closures to start in June

EVERETT — Two Snohomish County bridge replacement projects will force road closures for about four months beginning in June.

The first closure, necessary for the replacement of the Jordan Creek Bridge between Granite Falls and Arlington, will begin June 19. The 107-foot-long bridge carries traffic over Jordan Creek along Jordan Road and is limited to a single lane. It was last rebuilt in 1981.

Crews will construct a new $5.1 million bridge with two lanes and 6-foot shoulders, improving access for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, a county website reads. The road is expected to reopen in October.

The second closure, beginning June 25, will facilitate the $4.1 million replacement of the Swamp Creek Bridge along Locust Way between Brier and Bothell in south Snohomish County.
