Alaska Airlines sets start date for seasonal flights between Seattle, Iceland

After announcing a nonstop route from Seattle to Reykjavik, Iceland, last month, Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK) on Thursday revealed the start date for its seasonal service: May 28, 2026.

Reykjavik will join Rome as one of two international routes out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport set to begin service next May.

“The addition of Reykjavik expands Alaska’s global footprint, connecting our guests with even more of the world through the elevated service they know and love,” Kirsten Amrine, the vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska, said in a press release.

Alaska Airlines has been rapidly expanding its international service since acquiring Hawaiian Airlines for $1.9 billion last year. With the purchase, Alaska acquired Hawaiian's fleet of long-range widebody aircraft, which it's putting to use on new overseas routes.
