WSU Beach Watchers program to host public events

KAYAK POINT — In honor of International Coastal Cleanup Day, Washington State University’s Beach Watchers extension program and Snohomish County’s Marine Resources Committee are teaming up for a cleanup event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Kayak Point. Parking is free for the event at 609 Front St., Mukilteo.

The Beach Watchers program is also holding a Salmon On The Shore event from 3-5 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Meadowdale Beach Park, where members will teach participants about the salmon life cycle and the importance of the fish in local ecosystems. Programmers will hold an additional event to cover the same material from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 11.
