Asean Streat Food Hall evicted from Westlake Center
Asean Streat Food Hall has been evicted from downtown Seattle's Westlake Center after the operator fell $842,209 behind on rent and other charges, according to King County Superior Court documents.
Westlake Center's eviction effort dates back to 2023. According to court documents, Westlake alleges that Asean Streat Food Hall has not paid its rent, utilities and taxes since May 2023.
Asean Streat Food Hall signed a 10-year lease agreement in May 2021, and its rent has sat around $26,000 per month for the past few years.
Asean Streat Food Hall opened in the roughly 8,100-square-foot ground-level space of Westlake Center in November 2022. Upon opening, the brightly-colored Southeast Asian food hall often served lines of customers that wrapped around the building during lunchtime. The food hall featured about 10 stalls, with food offerings from around the region.
