FUCK that asshole Trump and his "state of Canada"

Does he really think that any self respecting Canadian would want to leave Canada to live in Trumps lawless gunslinger country? A rogue country that has been at war with some other nation since the 1930s Where people are killed simply because a neighbour has a fit of pique. Where the supreme court has been captured and renders solely political verdicts based frequently on unproven religious nonsense. Where the court system had always been designed to be based on actors presenting show plays instead of a legal system with rules of action and evidence. Where Women are, and always have been second class citizens and a chattel of people with penises.

In short a country where outlaws have been heroes and violence has been normalised from the time it was founded. In fact a small part of the earths population and less than 1/2 of the North American continent despite claiming it IS 'AMERICA".

A NATION THAT NEVER HAS BEEN, AND I HAVE NO DOUBT NEVER WILL BE CIVILISED.

Of course he's not serious about it. He just thinks he can create more chaos by attacking the USA's greatest friend.

He's just trying to humiliate you, belittle you, and generally shit on you because that's who he is and what he does.

I am more sorry than words can express that my countrymen have elected a leader who will treat you and your proud nation in such a way.

I'm sorry, and I'm ashamed. Deeply ashamed.

3. This time, tRump is lumping Canada in with Mexico. It is good to disabuse him of the notion that the two are equivalent.

4. Ignoring tRump infuriates him. Barking at him or trolling him infuriates him. Massaging his ego soothes him. Trudeau knows this.

He has threatened Denmark, Panama, Mexico, Greenland, . America will not reflect upon its mistakes until the rest of the world puts Donald in his place. I suggest, Tariffs can be a two-way street.

And we sent a woman (Christia Freeland) with Trudeau when they negotiated NAFTA 2.0 successfully. So successfully that tRump does not like the results of his treaty and is attempting to shit on Freeland because she is a tough woman who has a chance of becoming Prime Minister this year.

Canada targeted things like bourbon (Kentucky). The tariffs didn't last long, partly because of the targeting and partly because tRump was using it as a negotiating tactic.

This time around, I think tRump is more serious and stupid enough to believe his own gaslighting about tariffs. American consumers will pay, oligarchs will get richer, and the economy might recede or depress.

Know what is coming at us. After yesterday’s fiasco with Freeland’s quitting as deputy PM and finance minister, I only hope this was not done byTrudeau at request of Trump. Trump hates Freeland, she is like a Canadian Pelosi to him. She is incredibly smart, sees through the BS and hates Putin. She was a big part of dealing with his administration the first time, more so than Trudeau. He took with him the minister that is taking Freeland’s position. Fuck, I hope he didn’t give into Trump, that will destroy his total legacy that up to this past year has been pretty damn good. The Canadian people would never forgive him but if so, Freeland would be our next PM.

Canada has twelve sovereign Provinces and/or Territories.
Would each get two Senators, and proportional Representatives?
What about Quebec, where they don't speak hillbilly English?
It doesn't sound like a well conceived "plan", even if Canadians didn't have so many good reasons to reject the dumb idea.

California has a California National Party that advocates for sovereignty. I;m toying about joining. It may be tilting at windmills, but it feels good. in 2018, there were polls, that claimed about 1/5 of Californian's wished for secession.

That said, if CBC.CA is to be trusted, there are around 800 thousand Canadian citizens living in the USA, while as best as i can tell from a quick google search, there may be as many as 750 thousand Americans living in Canada. Which, given the respective populations, means a much higher percentage of Canadians have come to the US to live than have gone the other way.
