My Apple Ultra2 watch will not search for updates.

"Unable to check for update. An error occurred while checking for a software update."

I rebooted. No help.

1. You go to the Apple Watch Application on your iphone, selection General under My Watch, then Software Update.

I assume you have done that. Is your iphone updated to the latest version? If not you may want to update the iphone first.

The latest version currently out is watchOS 26.

2. OK. I have been holding off on 26 to make sure there are no bugs.

3. That is probably wise, but I always back up everything on my computer, not the cloud, before a major IOS

release, in case I need to roll back.

So far I have had no issues with version 26 on both the iphone and the ultra 2.

That is strange that you cannot update you ultra watch.

When I did the update it took quite a long time to update the watch, about 2 hours. First it downloads to the iphone, then to the watch. I just assumed there was a lot of traffic on the server which was why it took so long to download on the iphone. When downloading the watch IOS to the iphone, it didn't give too much indication of any progress bar for what it is worth.
