or something like that. When in doubt, ask EarlG.

More generic computer stuff goes in this forum, but no big deal.
Hope this helps.
I believe you are talking about seeing highlighted replies in the "reply tree" which is displayed between the original post in a thread, and all the replies.
There are a couple of options for highlighting in the reply tree. Just above the reply tree you should see a row of three buttons that look like this:
Highlight: NONE | 5 NEWEST | RECOMMENDED
"None" shows no highlighting, "5 Newest" highlights the five most recent replies, and "Recommended" highlights any reply which has five or more recommendations. I believe the last one is the one you're looking for.
Whichever option you select, it should stay the same across page loads. Hope that helps.

(7,584 posts)4. Thanks for your advice, I have no idea how this happened.
Back to normal so I can forget about that and just grit my teeth at other things, like the ballroom plans for the White house, among a huge list of other trump boondoggles.

(21,774 posts)5. It's easy to punch the wrong button. I do it all the time.
Whether flying about a large monitor or trying to scroll on a tiny phone screen.
Lots of people get into "private mode" on iphones, because it's easy to hit that accidentally, and then cookies go away, they're logged out and have to log back in all the time and so on.

Good luck.
