Some old programming books, back to the 1970s.

They belonged to my spouse. Should I recycle them? Do any have value?

The Tao of Objects 2nd Edition, Entsminger

The UNIX Programming Environment Kernigan/ Pike. I think this is a Bell Labs project.

A SNOBOL4 Primer. Griswold & Griswold

Introduction to Programming Languages. W.W. Peterson

Swing. 2nd Edition. Robinson/ Vorobiev

Peter Norton's DOS 6 Guide.

Learning the vi Editor. Lamb.

Application Development and Programming. Wipfler

System 390 JCL. 4th Edition. Brown

Microsoft Windows 3.1. Gateway 2000 Edition

Is Assembly or Fortran used anywhere? Recycle?

So, I donated a bunch of books there, hoping that someone who REALLY wanted one would get it online, for example, through Amazon (which I almost entirely avoid)

They operate an online store shopgoodwill.com but it's an auction site, and I detest auctions, since they are often "gamed"

The more expensive and fancy items go there. I never bid there, but it's a great place to snag photos of rare items.

I don't donate to libraries because they have limited space, and once a year, sell books, the remainder going to the landfill, which I really detest.

FWIW, old books can be found online for free.

You didn't see this, but if you fake an autograph, the book might drag in more money for charity.

Books that make it to the thrift stores will bring in maybe a quarter.

Anecdotally,

I have hundreds of pounds of books of great interest that I paid for, such as woodworking and landscaping, for which I found PDF's, ahead of move plans. My "BEST" solution is to donate to, or create "Little Libraries" and I will pursue this even if people don't return my emails. I can even build them.

See if there are any in your area, and donate.

SAY! I am going to pursue this. It's a great idea.

listed ten books, but I might have two more, one in Assembly, one in Fortran. Where would I be shipping them?

they will go nicely in my retro computer library. Normally I would buy these for a few dollars on Ebay, but for a fellow DUer... I can go higher. Shipping is the only thing. you can email me here at DU to arrange for the shipping address and I can paypal you for the books / shipping.

I'll see what I can do.
It won't be tomorrow. I have an adult disabled son and very little help.
I'm working on little bits here and there. My husband had many hobbies. We both have tons of books.
