Eight down...
Thanks, grantcart!
ETA explanation for non-hosts:
A lot of people who come to the Barack Obama Group get blocked from participating when they don't follow the Statement of Purpose, usually for nasty negative comments.
Every so often, a host will go through the list of blocked members to see if any have been banned entirely from DU, and then "unblock" them from this group to keep the list of blocked members accurate and manageable.
grantcart did this last night and unblocked about 14 members, or rather former members.

That's what I said!

(32,886 posts)It almost seems like an uncontrollable desire to disrupt this group is an indicator of being an unsuitable participant on DU in general.
Quelle surprise.

(11,175 posts)As of this writing the BOG block list includes 105 members. If grantcart deleted 14 people who'd been PPR'd, then, before he wielded his broom, there were 119 people blocked from the BOG, of whom 105 had not been PPR'd. In other words, of the DUers who were on the BOG blocked list as of yesterday, more than 88% were still welcome to participate fully elsewhere on DU.
This calculation doesn't take into account PPR'd posters who were unblocked in earlier cleanups.
If we had all the data needed for a full statistical analysis, I'm sure we'd find a positive correlation. To do a really meaningful test, however, we'd need to exclude the people who'd been PPR'd solely or primarily because of the same post(s) that got them blocked here, because in those cases there's a correlation but it's tautologous rather than proving anything.
What we know for sure is that more than 100 DUers have been blocked here without also getting into any major trouble anywhere else on the site.

(309,954 posts)BOG for not adhering to the Mission Statement of this Group. So glad they can follow the rules on DU if not the BOG's.
