As Treasury markets break and liquidity vanishes, the Fed is quietly preparing a multi-trillion-dollar bailout. But this isnt just a Wall Street story. If you have savings, a 401(k), or rely on the strength of the dollar, this crisis could hit closer to home than you thinkespecially if the system turns to bail-ins to contain the fallout. Watch now to understand whats unfolding and how it could impact your financial future.

I'm not familiar with ITM Trading YouTube channel. But this sounds like a reasonable analysis to me. Posted not to spook anyone, and don't just take them at their word, but what do you think?

(10,043 posts)"A hedge fund is a pooled investment fund that holds liquid assets and that makes use of complex trading and risk management techniques to aim to improve investment performance and insulate returns from market risk. Among these portfolio techniques are short selling and the use of leverage and derivative instruments."
For my sake.

I would guess buying scrap copper might be a better investment.

(19,706 posts)I was looking for a way to invest in some other stable country like Switzerland or maybe in euro. I wish I understood these things better. I realize it's not wise to take investment advice from some unknown person on the Internet, but I feel like I know who to trust here so thanks for entertaining my question. Aloha.

(49,966 posts)I suggest watching the two most recent WealthTrack interviews, they discuss the current situation pretty well. https://wealthtrack.com/
Their interviews are solid, but not often timely advice partly because they're taped a week in advance. (Odd how we still 'tape' interviews, but that's another matter.) I've fared so-so in bond funds prob because I don't use them much. But there are funds of various duration, and also bond funds of bond funds that have been steady if unspectacular. Such diversity is not volatile. I once got clobbered in emerging market bond fund.
International stock funds have held up better than domestic value/growth for me. So like you I'm tweaking around the edges. I like funds that are transparent about who manages them, their strategy, risk, and performance over time. Large cap, growth, medium risk are not details. Investing is not a chyron game.

I hesitated to even ask a question because for the last six months or so the answers have always included a healthy peppering of donʻt trust anybody on the Internet for financial advice, but I dont understand these things at all and when I try to read it, its like trying to decipher hieroglyphs while sinking in quicksand. (Alien hieroglyphics. Upside down.)
Anyhow, I am thankful for your recommendations. I will go read it. I have to say I dont think politics is a Chyron game anymore either, thats why we are in trouble, because theyre great at reducing an idea to the most monosyllabic brain probe that pokes at fear and identity, but we say on the one hand and on the other hand and, things are freaking complicated you know?
Im thankful for you. I appreciate your patience and willingness to help me understand things. With aloha!

(49,966 posts)Be cautious out there. Read. Knowledge is power, and there are other opinions as well. One of the recent interviews on that site the guy is in 100% cash, bank or money funds, because of the year we're facing. 3% might be pretty good when the world is melting.
Thanks again!

They arose and revolted! Revolted! Revolted!
That glorious company of warriors! Revolted!
They arose and revolted! Revolted! Revolted!
The Loyalist company of warriors! Revolted!
Revolted! Revolted
The company of warriors!
Courageous Loyalists!
Loyal to the chief!
The company of warriors!
The company of warriors!
Standing firmly behind!
Standing firmly behind!
The land!
They arose and revolted! Revolted!
The brave war leader!
Fearless Robert Wilcox!
With Robert Boyd!
And the Loyalist warriors!
The company of warriors! Strove, indeed!
To restore the rights of Kalākaua
The Loyalists! Revolted! Revolted!
The company of warriors!
With red shirts
Inside the grounds!
Of ʻIolani Palace!
The company of warriors!
Who fought bravely!
Against the enemy of the King!
Against the revolutionary government!
The company of warriors!
Though they failed
Against the enemy!
Of the Hawaiian nation!
The company of warriors!
Not forgotten!
Not forgotten!
For their bravery!
Great love for the Loyalists!
Chorus:
They arose and revolted!
The company of warriors!
Loyal to the King! The brave Loyalists!
Standing firmly behind the land!
Patriots, indeed!
Patriots, indeed!
Source: CD "Palani Vaughn's Best Vol.1"- July 6, 1887, the revolutionary Hawaiian League with an army of 500 haole sharpshooters called the Honolulu Rifles, forced King Kalâkaua to sign a revised version of the Hawaiian Constitution, known infamously as the Bayonet Constitution. This curtailed the power of the throne and made other changes which adversely affected the Hawaiian people, primarily, the right to vote in elections. The morning of June 30, 1889, approximately 80 part-Hawaiian warriors, tried to take possession of `Iolani Palace. Armed with 35 rifles, some farmer rice bird guns and a few pistols, they were led by Robert Kalanihiapo Wilcox, Robert N. Boyd and George Markham. The māmakakaua or company of warriors wamted to restore the rights and powers of their King. Auwē, they were defeated. The composer expresses the sentiment of the Hawaiian people as he pays tribute to the memory of those courageous red-shirted warriors who marched on ʻIolani Palace to defend their King against his enemies in the Hawaiian League.
