The crash in container ships arriving at the Port of Los Angeles (busiest in US) depicted in this graph should hit in a few weeks, which means lost business for truckers and probably some empty shelves in stores.

Unless something big changes, the problems should become more apparent in the summer.

The Baltic Dry Index is -17.60% for the month. A falling BDI is a leading indicator of potential economic downturns, as it reflects both lower demand for goods and possibly an oversupply of shipping capacity.

since Putin's Pet Piggy put his silly tariffs on temporary hold and since China has exported much of its industry already to other countries in SE Asia not hit quite as hard as China has been with tariffs still in the future.

I think we're seeing the crash in orders during the initial panic and they'll pick up a great deal as people try to stock up before those stupid tariffs are due to be enacted.

Let's allhope they're forgotten. PPP is good at forgetting things that don't work out for him.

I am sort of glad this is causing so much pain for big business, maybe they will realize their GOP model for putting in stupid autocrats was a bad idea? But of course we will all suffer much more as to them it will amount to differed luxury purchases and other fluff.
