USA Faces Supply Crisis - Joe Blogs

In this video I talk about the ongoing crisis for USA businesses which is driven by the new Tariffs announced by Donald Trump on 2nd April. The tariffs were announced without any prior warning and implemented within a very short space of time meaning that US businesses did not have time to adjust their supply chains or purchasing. China is the biggest since source of imports for US businesses and total imports in 2024 cost over $440 Billion, US businesses are now currently facing a tariff of 145% on these imports and this is resulting in orders not being shipped or being cancelled. US businesses will take time to find alternative supplies and as a result there is now a real risk of shortages. This was recently confirmed by the CEO's of Walmart, Home Depot and Target, 3 of the largest store chains in the USA, who have warned Donald Trump that USA consumer are now facing higher prices and empty shelves within weeks.

It's due to hoarding and FOMO and inflation. Powerful combo but rational. Makes sense to spend the money before it's more worthless, and before you can't get any, and to feel safer as if that's possible today.
