Arizona Petrified Wood Pendant on Etsy

A little more info than what's listed on Etsy as to the source of the stone.

A friend was downsizing a couple of years ago and came across some leftovers from his stepdad's estate. When he called to ask if I wanted "a box of rocks" that he thought included a couple pieces of petrified wood, I said yeah, sure. The stepfather was not exactly a favorite person, and this friend just wanted to get rid of the reminders/remainders. So I didn't expect much either in the way of quality or documentation. Nor did I expect to find the box just left at my front gate the next day, but there it was. There were several nice pieces of petrified wood, a few other odds and ends, and a small plastic box containing some cut and polished pieces. This cabochon and several others, apparently cut from the same piece of rock, were just labeled "AZ Wood" with a smudged penciled date that could have been 1972 or 1973 or 1975.

Edited to add link because I hit the wrong button.
