What's behind Trump's shortened deadline for Russia to accept Ukraine truce? - DW News

US President Donald Trump says he is no longer interested in holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking in Scotland, Trump said he was 'very disappointed' with Russia over its continued strikes inside Ukraine, despite his numerous phone conversations with Putin. Trump also said he would reduce the 50-day deadline he gave Putin to reach a peace deal before imposing a new round of tariffs on Russia to '10-12 days.' He said the sudden change in timeframe was necessary, as he did not see "progress being made" on the Russian side.
