Russia's Surprise Decision - Joe Blogs

Russia has lowered interest rates even though inflation remains high and unemployment is at historic lows.
Cutting rates under these conditions suggests that supporting economic activity has become a priority, and that the momentum behind the war-driven economy is weakening.

In this video, we look at:
• Why the rate cut was made now
• Real wage trends and cost pressure on companies
• The slowdown in industrial and defence-linked production
• Civilian industry contraction and labour shortages
• What this tells us about the sustainability of Russia’s current economic model
