Grand ayatollah calls for retribution after Khamenei's death

An influential Iranian cleric has called on Muslims worldwide to avenge the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian state-run news agency Tasnim reported on Sunday that Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi had declared in a religious statement, or fatwa, that "the main perpetrators of this crime" were the United States and Israel.

"Revenge is the religious duty of all Muslims in the world so that the evil of these criminals is eradicated from the Earth," the fatwa continued.

Makarem Shirazi indirectly threatened Donald Trump with death in June last year, when the US president said that Khamenei was "an easy target."

4. The US definitely assassinated a head of state and there's no point in legal parsing of the words.

We can do what we always do when someone gets shot in this country and claim that Trump is insane. Of course, to sell that explanation properly it would help to 25th him. He might thank us for it later.

Because of course HIS life is worth the lives of 90 million of the "others". But it wouldn't be "just" 90 million. It would be WWIII.
