28 Rumors We've Fact-Checked About Israel-Hamas War Since Its Beginning

Israel and Hamas reportedly reached a ceasefire agreement on Jan. 15, 2025, a deal that releases dozens of hostages and halts fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Multiple reputable news organizations, such as The Associated Press, Reuters and NPR, reported on the agreement, describing it as a step toward a possible end to the 15-month war.

Below is a sampling of that work, including research into Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's alleged "post-war" plans for Gaza, miscaptioned photos and videos supposedly showing the violence, and rumors about both sides' combat tactics.
